Thursday February 1st, 2018 – Mercedes-Benz Vans New Zealand today announced they are the official automotive partner across the IRONMAN 2018 event series kicking off on March 3rd in Taupo, in what will be the 20th anniversary for the series.
Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Vans Australia and New Zealand, Diane Tarr said the outdoor lifestyle of New Zealanders and New Zealand’s rugged terrain make this partnership the perfect choice for Mercedes-Benz Vans, which has a product range to match. The range includes people movers like the V-Class, which can seat up to 8, and the highly anticipated new X-Class ute which will officially launch in April this year.
“The athletes who compete in the IRONMAN series are tough, resilient, reliable and adaptable which are the qualities our products and people are known for. Mercedes-Benz Vans and IRONMAN have a long standing relationship through our global partnership so this was a natural extension for us to partner with the New Zealand event series”, Diane said.
As part of the partnership Mercedes-Benz Vans will bring vehicles from their range to support each of the races on the circuit.
IRONMAN Managing Director Dave Beeche said this partnership is the perfect fit. “The athletes who compete live an outdoor active lifestyle and reliable, safe and durable vehicles like the family mover V-Class and the new X-Class ute are the perfect types of vehicles our athletes would love to drive home in after a big event.”
