They say getting there is half the fun, but only if you’re comfortable.
Sport and leisure tourism specialists G Adventures help hundreds of energetic visitors enjoy the best of New Zealand every year.
Of course, our world-class tramping, skiing, and rafting sites aren’t in the city, so
G Adventures relies on its mini-buses to get its customers to the fun.
And those customers are now enjoying getting there in Mercedes-Benz mini-buses, which have been cleverly fitted out to maximise capacity while still providing plenty of comfort and the safety Mercedes-Benz is famous for.
“The Sprinter is an ideal vehicle for this project, because the chassis is so robust,” said Chris Devoy, General Manager of Action Motor Bodies which carried out the fit out.
In standard layout, the Sprinter usually carries 16 passengers but the new
G Adventure vans hold 20 in style.
Using a long wheel-base Sprinter with a high roof, Chris’ team raised the floor and installed over head parcel trays to make more space available.
“We used a lot of tricks, some of which are secret,” Chris laughed.
However they did it, the result is great.
G Adventures attracts adrenaline junkies from all over the world, and while they might love doing it tough up mountains and down rivers, they expect to be treated well the rest of the time.
Sitting comfy in a clever Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ticks that box.
