"We've been using Mercedes-Benz Sprinters and Vitos since 2009," said Braiden International's Ian Clarke, "so that wheelchair users can drive from the comfort of their own wheelchair. While we typically sell new 'adapted' Mercedes models, we can also retrofit existing models.
"It's a given, but safety, reliability and durability played a huge part in us using Mercedes-Benz Vans. Perhaps the main reason we chose the Mercedes range, though, is because of the gearboxes. For people driving with a fitted hand control, they need a smooth gear change – that's paramount."
Regarding both the Sprinter and Vito, Clarke also sighted the fact that one feature, in particular, was very important for its customers: "The eye level the wheelchair occupants achieve when seated in their wheelchair is excellent."
"The feedback we've had from our customers has been great," Clarke went on to say. "They love the Mercedes-Benz models. A lot of them use their vehicles every day and would be very lost without them."
