When James and Janene Draper decided to turn their passion for fine New Zealand produce into a retail business Farro Fresh in 2006, they never could have imagined that the team of 12 would grow to a community of 450. But as health and wellbeing became a modern imperative, the demand for their range of premium ingredients, sourced from the best providers in the country rose quickly.
The founders’ commitment to providing hungry home cooks with hard-to-find products as well as inspiration, food trends and recipes has helped them to build a strong reputation in the food and wine industry.
While their retail offering is strong, the demand for a home delivery option could not be ignored, so the pair worked with their team to design a digital delivery service and in 2017 Farro Online came to life. A key consideration was ensuring the quality and service was maintained in the delivery process, which is why Mercedes-Benz Vans have partnered with Farro Online to help them achieve their vision.
‘With Farro Online we needed to create the option for people who want to shop from our delicious range, but who might not be able to make it to one of our stores every week,’ Janene Draper explains. The Sprinter Cab Chassis and Vito van enables Draper and her team to maintain quality control. The Sprinter Cab Chassis has been fitted with a refrigeration unit to keep perishables at the desired temperature.
It is a strong partnership. The Farro Fresh philosophy reflects everything Mercedes-Benz Vans stands for. ‘The addition of Mercedes-Benz Vans products to their fleet is a natural fit for both companies, and illustrates the growing importance of quality to many business owners who operate a fleet of vehicles,’ Anthony MacLean from Mercedes-Benz Vans New Zealand says.
