AMG 4.0-litre twin turbo V8 engine
Located in the central section of the vehicle, the front mid-engine has a dry weight of just 209 kg. It is installed low down within the aluminium spaceframe for a low centre of gravity.
A transaxle configuration means that the engine is connected to the dual-clutch transmission behind it as a fixed unit – for perfect balance. With dry sump lubrication, the major assembly also ensures optimum oil supply even under powerful lateral acceleration.

Torque tube
The front mid-engine forms a fixed unit with the dual-clutch transmission. The components are connected by a flexurally and torsionally rigid torque tube.
Inside there is an extremely lightweight, torsionally stiff drive shaft made of carbon fibre. It transmits the output of the 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G, which ultimately transforms the power into acceleration. Inconceivably fast and breathtaking.

The AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with adaptive damping – standard for the Mercedes-AMG GT C and GT R – is a combination of bold performance and first-rate refinement.
When combined with a double wishbone concept it enables racetrack performance featuring excellent lateral dynamics and driving stability at high speeds. It adjusts the damping characteristics at each individual wheel to the driving style and condition of the road.

AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G
The AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission boasts lightning gear-changing, emotional double declutching and racing-standard performance: the sportier the mode, the more agile the response.
Only minor engine speed changes from gear to gear allow adaptations to the transmission ratio and fast gearshifts without interrupting the tractive power. Seven gears, three driving programs, a manual mode, double-declutching and the RACE START function provide exhilarating dynamic acceleration manoeuvres.

Benefits of the AMG ceramic high-performance composite braking system: it saves on weight, has a longer service life and even better stability.
Optimal weight distribution.
Optimal weight distribution.
Due to its front-mid engine and AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7G with transaxle configuration, the Mercedes-AMG GT achieves an optimal weight distribution of 47% to 53% between the front and rear axle. Combined with a low vehicle centre of gravity, this ensures exceptionally agile handling and high cornering speeds. Ultimately, races are won in the curves.

Lightweighting meets performance capability.
Lightweighting meets performance capability.
A power unit with performance figures at motor racing level – the V8 biturbo with two inner-V turbochargers is designed for top performance, and dynamic engine mounts adapt to any driving situation. In addition, dry sump lubrication allows the already low installation position to be lowered even further. Beguiling: explosive response with enormous tractive power.

Impressive when the V8 unleashes its full power. Just as thrilling is the engine sound, which underscores the Mercedes-AMG GT's excellent performance.
The heart of the AMG GT, the 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine, is certain to make the driver's pulse quicken. Awe-inspiring, when the V8 under the very long bonnet unleashes its full power. With a dry weight of just 209 kilograms it delivers racing-level performance. Light. Compact. Powerful.

AMG high-performance composite brake system
Braking performance like in motorsport – with engineering from AMG.
The high-performance composite brake system of the Mercedes-AMG GT is characterised by excellent deceleration values, precise sensitivity and high fading resistance. The large, internally ventilated, perforated and grooved brake discs combine high temperature resistance and low weight.
Key features of the brake system:
- Outstanding deceleration values thanks to large brake disks, all internally ventilated, grooved and perforated
- Composite technology ensures brake disks with high fading resistance and low unsprung masses
- Electric parking brake with convenient operation via a button beneath the rotary light switch
- Brake callipers with "AMG" lettering in red for the AMG GT C or in yellow for the AMG GT R (optionally in red)
- The dimensions and performance of the standard-fit composite brake system are adapted to the performance of the vehicle
Optional for all engines: AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system for further enhanced braking performance and fade resistance
