Stuff.co.nz has announced the winners of its annual ‘Top Cars’ awards, with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet winning the ‘Top Convertible/Roadster’ 2018.

The awards recognise the best vehicles to be launched between October 2017 and September 2018, and are broken down into a number of categories based on vehicle size and style.

This award follows on from last year’s success when Mercedes-Benz was named New Zealand’s Top Car Brand for 2017, as well as the AMG GLC 63 S which won ‘Top Performance/Luxury SUV 2018.

Commenting on the E-Class Cabriolet, Stuff’s Motoring Editor David Linklater, said “When it's up, the fabric roof gives a level of refinement that's not far off the E-class coupe.”

“When it's down, you have innovative features like the AIRCAP, which raises up from the windscreen header and combines with the rear draught-stop to reduce turbulence inside the cabin at speed. Clever features, but they're just enhancements to what is a beautifully executed package to start with. The E-class convertible looks, feels and drives like a class act.”

The E-Class Cabriolet range is supple and sophisticated, and a true hallmark of what a Mercedes-Benz convertible represents.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet range starts from $134,600 (MRRP).

The price detailed in this article is the current Manufacturer’s Recommended Retail Price (MRRP) and does not include any applicable on road costs (ORC).
