Production of X-Class vehicles has ceased and there is no new vehicle stock remaining in New Zealand. The information provided on this webpage is here as a guide, should you require specific product information visit the X-Class Overview page.
Embrace the freedom to adventure your way, every time you get behind the wheel of the powerful Mercedes-Benz X-Class. And feel ready to reach new horizons, thanks to the peace of mind that you’re driving one of the safest utes in its class.
The X-Class features a full set of advanced technology to help keep you secure, one of the key reasons the 4-cylinder variants have a 5 star ANCAP safety rating.
Getting you there. Safely.
When you’re heading out of town, there’s a range of systems in play designed to keep you safe on the open road, including seven airbags as standard.
The X-Class was the first ute in its class with Automated Emergency Braking, which features a camera and radar that monitors dangerous situations ahead. If you’re getting too close to a vehicle or object ahead, it will first give you a warning, then apply extra pressure as you brake. If you don’t react, it will start to apply the brakes for you.
4-cylinder models feature Lane Keeping Assist as standard, giving you extra support on the road. This monitors lane markers around your X-Class, and if you start to drift, the system will warn you via vibration through the steering wheel.
V6 variants feature Active Lane Keeping Assist. If you don’t respond to the vibration warning, the system will actively guide the vehicle back into its lane via selective braking.
Tame the terrain.
4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive* means your X-Class can tackle the most demanding terrain, but it’s important to feel in control whenever you go off road. A low-range reduction gear and rear axle differential lock are in place to maintain stability, handling and traction on the most unpredictable of surfaces.
Plus, there’s the stopping power of four-wheel ventilated disc brakes - not just rear drum brakes like most other utes in the class. And skid control stops drive wheel spin when you take off, reducing the chance of a sideways tail-slide in tricky conditions and protecting your tyres.
*4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive applies to V6 variants only. 4-cylinder variants include selectable all-wheel drive.
