Mercedes-Benz New Zealand has been informed about a recall that will involve vehicles delivered to the New Zealand market. The recall relates to the brake booster fitted to certain Mercedes-Benz ML-Class, GL-Class (164 platform) and R-Class vehicles (251 platform) model year 2005 – 2013. Customers are advised to not drive their vehicles until the recall has been completed.

We sincerely apologise to all affected vehicle owners for any inconvenience this may cause. We are working closely with our factory to begin the rollout as efficiently as possible.

Please be assured Mercedes-Benz New Zealand will do everything possible to ensure affected vehicles can be inspected as soon as possible. Any necessary rectification work will be carried out free of charge, and if a vehicle is deemed unavailable for an extended period, all efforts will be made to arrange an alternative transport solution. Owners of all affected vehicles will be directly contacted in writing, at which time we recommend they contact their authorised Mercedes-Benz service centre at their earliest opportunity to have their vehicle(s) assessed. We ask owners to please ensure their contact details are kept up to date with the NZTA registration database.
